Shemaia Meleane Dixon is a Wellington based disabled creative. Shemaia is originally from Christchurch where they grew up in a Tongan family. Shemaia studied theatre as a child and attended Hagley Theatre company for two years before moving to Wellington where they are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in history and theatre. As Shemaia is queer, Tongan and was born with Cerebral Palsy, they are fiercely passionate about representation in the arts.
